Lyökki becon is located on a rocky Pookinmaa island South-West of Pyhämaa some 5 km (3mi.) from Pyhämaa main island. Lyökki beacon is the oldest beacon inf Finland, built in 1757. It’s made of stone, a “lighthouse without the light” some with 16,5 meters of height.

PyhämaaMaanpää” (Land’s end) and its fishing harbour are places, where Pyhämaa fishing industry is based. Pyhämaa fishing tradition dates back hundreds of years in history and fishing is still continued based on these traditions thanks to the tenacious fishermen and abundant fish in the Baltic sea.

Makeanvedenallas (”Sweet-water pool”) is a lake with size of 37 square kilometers. This lake used to be a set of bays of sea but serves today as the drinking water resource for Uusikaupunki town. The lake has two main parts, Ruotsinvesi and Velhovesi.

It a good idea to make a journey from Uusikaupunki via Lepäinen and Lyökki to Pyhämaa along the narrow, winding and beautiful road which takes you round this vast lake. This way the distance UusikaupunkiPyhämaa is 50 km. On the other side of the road you have the Baltic see, on the other side the Makeanvedenallas lake.
